Baggage
The SHGM maintains a strict stance on tariff transparency:
- Transparency: Airlines are required to display the final price (including government taxes and extra charges) at the time of initial booking. Hidden fees are subject to sanctions.
- Carry-on Baggage: Standardization of dimensions to 55x40x23 cm. The SHGM mandates that essential health items and medications must be transported free of charge, regardless of the contracted baggage allowance.
- Loss/Damage: Civil liability follows the Montreal Convention, with the SHGM acting as a mediator in cases of non-compliance with deadlines for baggage damage compensation or delivery delays.

Pets
Transportation is regulated by the *SHT-PET* directive:
- Cabin vs. Hold: Animals up to 8kg (including the carrier) are generally permitted in the cabin. Pets exceeding this weight must be transported in the pressurized cargo hold.
- Documentation: Submission of a Veterinary Health Certificate, the animal's passport, and proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination is mandatory.
- Prohibitions: Breeds considered dangerous or large guard dogs may face restrictions on commercial flights and are required to be transported by certified cargo carriers. Reserving space for the pet at least 48 hours in advance is mandatory.

Children & families
- Seating: The SHGM requires that children under 12 be seated next to an accompanying adult at no additional cost, provided the request is made at the time of booking.
- Stroller Allowance: Foldable "umbrella-type" strollers are permitted to be taken to the aircraft door without additional check-in fees.
- Assistance: Airlines must prioritize the boarding of families with infants and provide bassinets on long-haul flights, subject to availability and advance reservation.

Seniors & accessibility
SHGM regulations for Passengers with Reduced Mobility (PRM) align with international standards:
- Requesting Assistance: Requests for assistance (wheelchairs, attendants, medical equipment) must be made at least 48 hours before departure.
- MEDIF: For passengers with chronic medical conditions or those requiring on-board oxygen, the *Medical Information Form (MEDIF)* is mandatory and must be validated by the airline.
- Priority: Turkish airports are required to provide assistance throughout the entire journey, from the point of vehicle drop-off at the airport to the passenger's seat on the aircraft, at no cost to the passenger.
