Baggage
The KCAA requires full transparency regarding tariffs ("unbundling"). The 2026 guidelines mandate:
- Disclosure: All fees, including charges for checked baggage, must be displayed at the time of initial booking ("Total Price").
- Carry-on Baggage: Airlines must clearly publish the maximum dimensions and weights permitted in the cabin. The KCAA does not impose a universal mandatory allowance but requires that policies be consistent with the contract of carriage agreed upon at the time of purchase.
- Mishandled Baggage: In compliance with the Montreal Convention, operators must indemnify passengers for damages, delays, or loss of baggage within the limits established by international treaties ratified by Kenya.

Pets
The transportation of animals is subject to both KCAA regulations and the Kenya Department of Veterinary Services:
- Documentation: Submission of an International Health Certificate and rabies vaccination record (issued at least 30 days in advance) is mandatory.
- Safety: The KCAA requires that animals transported in the hold travel in crates certified by IATA (Live Animals Regulations - LAR).
- Limitations: The transport of brachycephalic (short-snouted) breeds is subject to seasonal temperature restrictions imposed by most operators under KCAA supervision to prevent fatalities.

Children & families
- Seating: The KCAA strongly encourages a "Family Seating" policy, recommending that children under 12 years of age be accommodated next to their guardians without additional seat selection fees.
- Equipment: Foldable strollers and child safety seats (approved child restraint systems) may be checked or taken to the aircraft door at no extra cost, according to the individual airline policy approved by the KCAA.
- Assistance: Airlines must provide bassinets upon advance request, subject to the technical availability of the aircraft.

Seniors & accessibility
- Ground Assistance: Airlines and the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA), under KCAA oversight, must ensure the provision of wheelchairs and boarding/disembarking assistance for passengers with reduced mobility (PRM).
- MEDIF Form: For passengers with complex medical conditions or those requiring onboard oxygen, the Medical Information Form (MEDIF) must be submitted to the airline at least 48 to 72 hours before the flight.
- Priority: Passengers with physical disabilities have legal priority during check-in, security screening, and boarding.
